Ahhhh .. April Fool’s Day! Have you been fooled yet? Well, I think the weatherman’s fooling us with the weather in the UK. April and it’s still freezing outside. As I write this, the sky is overcast and I still have the central heating on.
Last month I structured my yoga classes with the theme “being brave“. Following on from that, in being brave, we need to find the strength from within and be strong. For some reason, there seems to be quite a few of my friends who are going through turmoil and hence, change. I’m sure one of you will be able to tell me that it has something to do with the way the planets and stars are lined up. Whilst I feel that this period of change has dragged on, perhaps it’s because we haven’t made any change. Hence why last month I decided that as tough as it may seem, the time had come to be brave.
Whilst being brave means I face up to what life has to offer, it also means I need to have the strength to carry on being brave, when it’s most likely that I’ll want to curl up under the safety of my duvet and the cuddles of my two cats. So I invite you to join me in being strong through April; on and off the mat.
Being strong conjures up different images in everyone’s head and will mean different things to different people. Certainly on a yoga mat, we can explore strength in our legs, upper body, arms, core and back. We can also look at how strong we are mentally in persevering through a challenging yoga practice. So how about off the yoga mat? What does being strong mean to you? Do share your thoughts with me, along with how you see you can be strong this month.
Hugs … Ann-See x
